There is protection. Double.
There is inner shelter and outer cover.
But not for the rags, the textile pariahs.
The rags… those cloths that need to be clean to absorb dirt and if they are dirty they don’t clean.
Those fabrics that are essential for hygiene and therefore for health. Ours.
Those fabrics that are despised and mistreated even economically: the longer they last, the more we save!
The rags… so cheap.
Why this mistreatment, then? Because they are dirty or cheap.
Or for not giving them credit.
Or for not giving credit for cleanliness.
